2 Chron 32:7   Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him.

This is Hezekiah on a good day. The king of Assyria is coming and threatens to wipe them out. Hezekiah does all he can to fortify the city and maintain the water supply, but after that there are only the people to build up. So this is what he says to them. It's a good word. It is true. He goes on, “With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles." All the king of Assyria had was his own physical strength. Israel has the Lord Almighty fighting on their side. It was a no-contest!

In the New Testament John wrote, “the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 Jn 4:4). It's the same truth put a different way. God lives in us by His Holy Spirit and He is infinitely bigger than Satan or anyone that Satan can bring against us.

Do we have this perspective? Have we seen the might and enormous power of the Lord? Have we realised that He is for us (Rom 8:31 ) and with us to deliver us from the enemy, and therefore we have nothing to worry about? Are there things we are fearful about? If there are, it means we have not realised His might and His power and His grace that is there for us. Whatever ‘it' is, He is sufficient to help you overcome the fear of it because He is big enough to deal with it!
