Daily Thoughts : June 8th

2 Cor 4:16   "Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we're being renewed day by day."

It's a strange old world isn't it? For most of my life I wasn't aware of my physical health, I just had it, but then I started getting older and started to have aches I didn't have before. Age quietly creeps up on you and you realise that unless the Lord steps in and does major restoration work, which He sometimes does do, you are indeed wasting away and, almost in preparation for the next world, your body in this world copes less and less well with each day. They do say the peak of physical health and strength is in your late twenties and therefore the rest is downhill. But that's just the physical side and I'm far more than just that.

I also have a spirit and when I was born again and became a Christian, the Holy Spirit came in and linked me up to God. From then on it was all restoration. As every day passes and He shares my life and I share His, in my every ‘encounter' with Him something more of Him renews me and I am gradually being changed into Jesus' likeness (2 Cor 3:18). Perhaps in preparation for the next world, I am being changed on the inside and spiritual and heavenly things become more real. In fact, it is those things that have become the most important. Making money is no big issue, achieving fame is no big issue. The biggest issue is knowing him and the power of his resurrection (Phil 3:10), his power that transforms me and makes me more compatible with the next world.
