Isa 26:12   "LORD, you establish peace for us"

Lord, I understand that you sent Jesus to die for us and bring us peace: “since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Rom 5:1). Thank you that I am at peace with you.

But am I at peace today with the day? Are there things that are worrying me? What does this day hold? Am I at peace over what is coming? Am I at peace over what happened yesterday? Am I at peace over what I am doing in life? Is guilt hovering on the sidelines nagging at me because of the path I am walking?

What does he say? “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil 4:6,7).

Do I need to talk to Him about these things? How often peace seems absent from life today, yet it is part of the salvation He promises me. I must seek Him for it. I must know Him afresh because I know that when I have sensed His presence, His peace has always been there. It is the awareness that He is sovereign, He is the Lord and everything is under His control. As I become freshly aware of this, peace flows in again because I then know that nothing else matters, just being in His powerful presence.
