Daily Thoughts : December 16th

Dan 7:13,14 there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away

There are a few more words to these two verses but we've left some out for the sake of space, but there is plenty left! In a vision Daniel sees a human figure approach God on His throne. This figure, please note, was then given authority, the right and the power to act, and glory, exaltation, and sovereign power, power that is unlimited and over all other powers. Even more than this, this figure is going to be worshipped from people all over the world.

Now it is this last thing we need to pause up on. A man being worshipped? Surely not? Surely only God is to be worshipped? And yet this is a divine revelation, a vision from heaven that is recorded in His word, and God doesn't make mistakes! He says this figure, this human figure, will be worshipped by people from every nation. More than that, his authority, his dominion (which is a sub-rule) will be a rule that will be everlasting. How can that be unless he is God. Ah, there is the truth! He IS God, this human figure; this is the Son of God, God in human form who left his place in heaven and came and walked on the earth, starting out his ‘life' on earth in the form of a little baby, conceived in the womb of a real woman. This is the One who came to earth – God incarnate. Praise Him. Worship Him.
