Col 1:22   But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation

When Paul uses the word ‘reconciled', he reminds us that we were separated from God by our sin, “you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior,” (Col 1:21) and the work of Christ was to deal with that sin so that the thing keeping us from God could be removed and we could be brought together with God. That is reconciliation.

The work of Christ was his death on the Cross referred to in the middle of our verse, As the Son of God he was taking the punishment we deserve and leaving us to be declared free of guilt and shame because he has taken it.

Because he has taken it, and this is a simple logical flow, we are now righteous in God's sight and through Christ He sees no fault in us – every fault is taken by Christ. There is no room for us to be accused of sin and guilt, because Christ takes it all. That is why Paul can say that we are holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.

Now when we believe this, we can see there is nothing to hinder us coming to our loving heavenly Father, there is nothing to stop us coming to Him like little children. It is an incredibly releasing truth that we have been considering. Let it release you to be able to enjoy Him, and Him you.
